Antique Canister Glazed Cream Ceramic Pottery with Lid Vintage Housewares

This Crockery Glazed Ceramic Pottery cylindrical Canister holds 24 fluid ounces. An antique household container of practical beauty, it has many uses: food container (which was undoubtedly its original purpose), vase, plant holder or as decorative decor in kitchen or den. It has a lid with recessed knob, all about 3 1/8" diameter.

This canister holds three cups of liquid and measures approximately 3 3/4 inches by 5 1/2 inches. As an antique about a hundred years old, it has some "dings" around the top, a hairline crack from top down stretching about 1 1/4 inch, a small, thin chip into the glaze (1/4 inch) at the bottom edge and, as also shown in the loose fitting lid, intimations of a long revered life.
