Gray and Gold Art Deco Birds Wing Earrings
Large post earrings, with gray marbled enamel "feathers" swinging below blue grey oval stones, all inlaid in bright gold metal, this pair looks like highly stylized art deco bird wings. Ideal for a woman who prefers big bold fashion jewelry to go almost anywhere - day or night.
Sophisticated, dressy and elegantly understated, the earrings measure 1 7/8 inch in overall length, by 1 1/8 inch wide. The gemstones are manmade blue goldstone, with the sparkling flecks of glitter typical of the stone also twinkling in the graduated silvery grays of the glossy enamel. The finish appears to be gold vermeil.
While there are no maker's marks or other forms of identification, they appear to be top quality costume jewelry, probably manufactured during the late 1980s or early 1990s. They are in excellent condition and may never have been worn. We have given them a thorough inspection and cleansing, and have replace the original earnuts with brand new gold plated butterfly stud backs.
