Antique Serving Set Ceramic Spoon and Cake Server - 2 Piece Flatware Set

Regular price $15.00

Antique Serving Set Ceramic Spoon and Cake Server, a 2 piece flatware set from the 1930s, is a lovely, nostalgic example of pre-World War II American tableware.

Each of these off white glazed ceramic pieces is decorated with a spring floral design of flowers and leaves in pink, blue, green and orange with touches of yellow here and there. The handles have hand painted silver trim, and both have a handy hole for hanging on your wall.

The large spoon is 8-1/2 inches long by 2-5/8 inches across at its widest point. The flat, tapered cake server, also ideal for pies, measures 9 inches long by 2-1/2 inches across at the shoulder. The reverse sides are plain, without impressions or maker's marks.

Whether you use them as housewares for entertaining or display them as home decor, these collectible antiques are sure to add their cottage chic, retro charm to your table or collection.

Considering their 80 or more years, both utensils are in excellent antique / vintage condition, without chips or cracks, and showing only minimal wear to the glaze around the edge of the spoon bowl. The silver border on the spoon handle is worn in one spot.

None of these  few slight imperfections, which are original to the manufacture and under the glaze - pin hole size dimples in the surface of the cake server and a tiny "bubble" near the tip of the spoon, detract from the appearance of functionality of the set.
