The Book Thief written by Markus Zusak in 2005 became a New York Times best seller and was translated into several languages, becoming a featured film in 2013.

This historical novel, set in the 1930s and 1940s of Germany, tells the story of Liesel, the book thief, a German girl trying to make sense of the horrors of World War II.

The narrator is Death, and the unique writing style of the Australian author provides a most memorable view of humanity.

The illustrations of Trudy White enhance this enduring story.

This copy is Knopf's First Edition trade paperback, 2007.  It is in excellent condition with a strong and firm binding, no marks or tears.  It measures 5 inches by 8 inches by 1 1/4 inches and has 552 pages.
