Community Drama, Its Motive and Method of Neighborliness, 1917, originated as a lecture which Mackaye gave at a conference on recreation and community organizing.  "Can we poor human beings never realize our quality without Destruction?"

In this book Mackaye presented his ideas for community participation.

During his life MacKaye (1875-1956) produced several pageants, the best known being Caliban: By the Yellow Sands, produced at the Harvard Stadium June 28-July 9, 1917.

This paperback book is in fairly good condition. It is firmly bound, a little browned and without markings although the cover is scuffed at either end of the spine and the lower right corner of the cover is badly scuffed, as the picture indicates. The book measures 4 3/4 inches by 8 3/4 inches by 3/8 of an inch and has 65 pages.
