An introductory essay to this 625 page book surveys the history of contemporary black American drama. Playwrights, screenwriters, radio and television scriptwriters, and musical theater collaborators are treated in separate sections.


This book is in near mint condition, slight foxing,  no dust jacket.  it measures 6 1/4 inches by  9 1/2 inches by  1 1/2 inches.  Solidly bound, like new, it is without marks or tears. Looking down on the book from the top, closed, there is a slight depression (pp. 180-220) indicating a scrape to the very top of pages. No other damage.
