Edwin Forrest First Star of the American Stage by Richard Moody First Edition

Regular price $8.00

Edwin Forrest: First Star of the American Stage by Richard Moody, is an exciting illustrated biography of the talented, eccentric and controversial 19th century actor whose sterling theater career was filled with brilliant performances, lurid scandal and a New York riot that claimed 31 lives.

The chapter headings and the illustrations (shown in photographs) indicate clearly the scope of this biography of America's first great stage star. A list of Illustrations, Notes on Sources and an Index complete this well researched biography.

This collectible hardcover book is in very good vintage condition, with little shelf wear. The pages are browned but without tears or marks; remnants of a book plate remain on the inside front cover. The yellow and red dust jacket, with a black and white portrait of the young Forrest, is torn at the top and a bit ragged.

The book measures 6 1/4 inches by 9 1/2 inches by 1 1/4inches and has 426 pages.
